Lake Beratan and Eka Karya Botanical Garden, located in the highlands of Bedugul, Tabanan, Bali, Indonesia. One of the famous tourist icons on the island of Bali is located at an altitude of over 1200 meters above sea level. This is actually two separate attractions, but because of their nearby so you may not miss one of them while visiting Bedugul. It took about 2, 5 hours drive to the north from Denpasar to get to this place.
This will not be a long journey from Denpasar, because along the way I was treated by the beauty of Balinese countryside. Traditional houses with stone ornaments, as well as rice fields and the towering coconut trees truly indulgent my eyes. Not only that, if the weather is clear, the shape of the mount Batur and the mount Agung can be such a heaven on earth vistas accompany your trip.
The best time to enjoy this beautiful highlands of Bedugul is towards the middle of the day. Because Lake Beratan is often covered by fog in the early evening, to get the best view you better go in the morning.
What to see
As we know in the 50.000 rupiah denominations, there is a picture of the-temple-above-the-lake, and here it is, Penataran temple. Fortunately, when I went here also there were a ceremonial praying to the God that made me more impressed with the value of traditional Balinese.
While in the Eka Karya Botanical Garden, here are a collection of thousands of species of plants like in the Bogor Botanical Gardens. You can also enjoy beautiful views of Lake Beratan from the hills.
