Dongdaemun Design Plaza (DDP) in Seoul, South Korea may be the most remarkable modern-architectural building I’ve ever seen. Its quaint shape reminded me of Alien’s UFO (Unidentified Flying Object) I used to see in fictional programs. DDP is located in a large shopping district, Dongdaemun, and can be reached by Subway from Dongdaemun History and Cultural Park Station (Line 2, 4 and 5) exit 1.
This iconic landmark of Seoul was designed by a British Iraqi Architect, Zaha Hadid, and was officially inaugurated in 2014. This is the house for exhibiting various creative industries in Seoul such as crafts, gifts, fashions, cosmetics, etc. The Dongdaemun Design Plaza also provides convention hall and exhibition hall as well.
The cherry blossom trees in the garden of DDP started blooming when I first came here just couple of hours after arrived in Korea as a sign that Spring had already started. I felt so impressed and welcomed then. There are also thousands of beautiful artificial LED roses in Design Park you can enjoy at night.
